A Different Kind of Support

Hi, I'm Jessica.

I've spent nearly 20 years working in healthcare as a nurse and nurse practitioner. And one thing I've learned is that even the most capable, organized people can feel completely lost when healthcare gets complicated.

Maybe you're trying to make sense of a new diagnosis. Maybe you're juggling appointments with several specialists. Or maybe you're helping an aging parent and suddenly you're the person responsible for keeping track of everything.

You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out. You don't even need to know exactly what kind of help you need.

My job is to listen, help you make sense of what's happening, and work with you to figure out what comes next.

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

Sometimes you just need someone who knows what questions to ask.

People reach out to me for all kinds of reasons. Often, they've been trying to manage everything themselves for far too long.

01

You're caring for an aging parent.

You're managing appointments, medications, hospital updates, and questions about what happens next. It's a lot to carry, especially when you have your own life to manage.

02

You have more questions than answers.

You've received a diagnosis, conflicting recommendations, or test results you don't understand. You want to make informed decisions, but you're not sure where to start.

03

You're tired of coordinating everything.

Between referrals, specialist visits, medical records, and insurance questions, keeping track of your healthcare has started to feel like another job.

Why Work With Me?

Clinical experience. Personal attention. No rushing.

I bring nearly two decades of clinical experience to my work as a patient advocate. I understand medical terminology, treatment plans, and the way different parts of the healthcare system fit together.

But I also understand that healthcare isn't just about medical records and test results. It's about real people trying to make the best decisions they can, often during stressful or uncertain times.

I work for you, not a hospital or insurance company. My role is to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported as you work with your healthcare team.

What you can expect

Personal, Independent Advocacy

You'll work directly with me.

True Care Navigation isn't a large healthcare company where you have to explain your story to someone new every time you reach out.

When you work with me, you're working with the person who reviews your information, listens to your concerns, and helps you make a plan.

I intentionally keep my practice personal because I believe meaningful patient advocacy requires time, attention, and a real understanding of the person behind the medical records.

Common Questions

A few things you might be wondering.

What does a health care advocate do?

A health care advocate helps patients understand their medical care, communicate with providers, and navigate healthcare decisions. I bring my clinical background as a nurse practitioner to this work, helping clients organize medical information, prepare questions, and coordinate next steps.

Can you help with an aging parent's healthcare?

Yes. I work with adult children and family caregivers who need help understanding diagnoses, coordinating appointments, organizing medical records, and navigating care transitions. Provider communication may require the patient's authorization.

Can you help with medical insurance questions?

Yes. I can help review insurance correspondence, understand confusing bills or denials, and organize information for questions, appeals, or disputes. Coverage and appeal outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Do I need a serious medical condition to hire a patient advocate?

No. Some clients have complicated chronic illnesses or new diagnoses. Others simply need help understanding medical information or managing appointments and referrals.

Do you replace my doctor?

No. Patient advocacy complements the care you receive from your healthcare professionals. I help you understand information, prepare for conversations, and navigate next steps. Advocacy is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, or emergency medical care.

How much does patient advocacy cost?

Private patient advocacy sessions are $150 for 60 minutes. Services are direct pay rather than billed to insurance.
