Everything you'd want to know before reaching out.
If your question is about a specific service, you'll likely find it faster on that service's page. What's below is the bigger picture — what this is, how it works, and what it costs to find out whether it's a fit.
What is this, exactly?
What is a patient advocate?
A patient advocate works directly for you — not for a hospital, an insurance company, or anyone else. I help you understand what's happening with your health, coordinate between your providers, and make sure your voice is heard at every step.
Because I'm a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, that work carries clinical weight. I can request records, interpret labs, clarify treatment plans, and flag concerns that a non-clinical advocate wouldn't catch.
Are you a licensed medical provider?
Yes. I'm a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience as both a registered nurse and an FNP, with a BSN from Samford University and an MSN from Belmont University. I hold full prescriptive authority and am licensed to independently assess, diagnose, and treat within my scope.
What's the difference between advocacy, coaching, and a same day visit?
Advocacy and navigation solves a healthcare problem — untangling multiple specialists, an insurance denial, records nobody has read end to end, or symptoms nobody has explained.
Integrative health coaching builds your long-term plan — weekly work on metabolic health, chronic conditions, prevention, and whole-body wellness.
Same day virtual visits handle acute illness — you're sick today and need to be seen today.
Many clients combine advocacy and coaching. If you're not sure which fits, the free consultation exists to figure that out.
Does this replace my primary care doctor?
No, and it isn't meant to. Advocacy and coaching work alongside your existing providers — coordinating between them, preparing you for appointments, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Same day visits handle acute, episodic illness, not ongoing disease management.
If you don't currently have a primary care provider, helping you find the right one is something I can absolutely take on.
Can you communicate with my doctors on my behalf?
Yes. With your authorization I can request records, coordinate referrals, follow up on results, and make sure every provider involved in your care is working from the same complete picture. You'll never have to play telephone between your own doctors again.
How working together actually works.
Do I have to live in Kentucky?
Yes. Services are available to Kentucky residents only, which is where I'm licensed to practice. Within Kentucky, everything is virtual — so it doesn't matter whether you're in Paducah, Ashland, or anywhere in between.
Do you see patients in person?
No. Everything is delivered by telehealth. That's what makes unhurried appointments possible without a commute, a waiting room, or a scheduling bottleneck. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.
Is my information secure?
Appointments take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, and clinical information shared there is protected.
One important exception: the contact form on this site is not encrypted for protected health information. Please keep that message general — we'll cover clinical details securely once we connect.
Is there an age requirement?
Same day virtual visits are for patients 18 and older. For advocacy and coaching, reach out and we'll talk through your situation — including if you're seeking support on behalf of a family member.
How quickly will I hear back?
Within one business day, you'll get a personal reply directly from me — not an automated sequence and not a generic confirmation. From there we'll find a time that fits your schedule.
What if you're not the right fit for me?
I'll tell you. The free consultation exists partly so I can be honest about whether what you need is something I can genuinely help with. If it isn't, I'll point you toward the right provider or resource. There's no obligation in either direction.
What it costs, and how to start.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Kentucky Health Advocacy is cash-pay only, and that's a deliberate choice rather than a limitation.
Operating outside insurance means no network restrictions, no billing requirements shaping how long an appointment can be, and no third party with an interest in your care. The only person I answer to is you.
What does it cost to find out if this is right for me?
Nothing. Every engagement starts with a free 15-minute consultation — we talk through your situation, you ask whatever you want, and you decide afterward. No pressure and no commitment.
How much do services cost?
All pricing is published upfront — no phone call required to see a number. Single sessions start at $85, and monthly packages start at $575. See the full pricing page →
What if I only need help with one thing?
That's what the à la carte options are for. A single 30- or 60-minute session, or a one-time medical chart review, with no monthly commitment. Plenty of people come with one specific question and never need anything more.
How do I get started?
Send a message through the contact page, email kentuckyhealthadvocacy@gmail.com, or call or text 615.483.0399. You'll hear back within one business day and we'll schedule your free consultation.
If you're sick today and just need to be seen, skip all of that and book a same day visit directly.
