When to Consider a Patient Advocate

Sometimes you need more than another doctor's appointment.

You may have excellent doctors and still feel overwhelmed by the healthcare system. When answers are unclear, care becomes fragmented, or you're making difficult decisions for someone you love, having an experienced professional in your corner can make a difference.

You're Still Searching for Answers

You've seen doctors, completed testing, and explained your symptoms repeatedly. But you still don't have a clear understanding of what's happening.

  • Unexplained or persistent symptoms
  • Concerns about a possible misdiagnosis
  • Conflicting medical recommendations
  • Questions about seeking a second opinion

You're Managing Too Many Moving Parts

Between specialist visits, medications, test results, and referrals, managing your healthcare has started to feel like a full-time job.

  • Multiple specialists and appointments
  • Medical records scattered across providers
  • Delayed referrals or follow-up care
  • Complex or chronic health conditions

You're Trying to Help Someone You Love

Supporting an aging parent or family member can be especially difficult when you're balancing work, family, and healthcare decisions from a distance.

  • Organize unexplained symptoms
  • Review questions about a diagnosis
  • Find appropriate specialist options

Specialist & Care Coordination

Managing multiple doctors and referrals shouldn't require you to become your own full-time healthcare coordinator.

  • Organize specialist appointments
  • Help coordinate referrals and follow-up
  • Prepare questions for your care team
  • Keep track of next steps and care plans

Chronic Illness Navigation

Living with a chronic condition often means ongoing appointments, treatment decisions, and changing healthcare needs.

Insurance & Healthcare Questions

Insurance denials, confusing bills, and unanswered administrative questions can add stress to an already difficult time.

  • Prepare questions about medical bills
  • Organize information for appeals
  • Navigate coverage and referral questions

You deserve clear answers, thoughtful guidance, and someone who takes the time to listen.

Let's Talk About Your Healthcare

Independent, virtual patient advocacy throughout Colorado.

Personalized Patient Advocacy

You shouldn't have to become a healthcare expert just to get the care you need.

Healthcare is complicated enough. My role is to help you make sense of the information, understand your options, and feel more prepared for what comes next. With experienced guidance and personal attention, you don't have to navigate it all on your own.

The True Care Navigation Difference

Experienced guidance. Care that's truly personal.

Finding a patient advocate in Colorado isn't just about finding someone who understands the healthcare system. It's about finding someone who listens, understands the clinical details, and takes your concerns seriously.

Clinical Experience You Can Trust

As a board-certified family nurse practitioner with nearly 20 years of healthcare experience, I bring a clinical perspective to patient advocacy.

I understand medical terminology, diagnostic testing, treatment recommendations, and the challenges that arise when multiple providers are involved in your care.

MSN, FNP-BC · Nearly 20 Years of Clinical Experience

Independent Advocacy

I work for you, not a hospital, insurance company, or healthcare organization.

My role is to help you understand your options, prepare questions, and navigate decisions with information that is relevant to your individual situation.

Your Questions. Your Priorities. Your Healthcare.

Personal Attention, Not a Call Center

When you work with True Care Navigation, you work directly with me.

I intentionally limit the number of clients I work with so I can give each person the time and attention their situation deserves. You won't need to explain your story to a different person every time you reach out.

One Advocate. Consistent Support. A Personal Approach.

You deserve more than generic advice. You deserve someone who understands the details and sees the person behind the medical records.

A More Personal Approach to Healthcare

Your healthcare story deserves to be heard and understood.

Hi, I'm Jessica. When you work with True Care Navigation, you work directly with me.

Colorado Patient Advocacy FAQs

Questions about working with a patient advocate?

Here are answers to some common questions about private patient advocacy, healthcare navigation, and working together virtually in Colorado.

What does a patient advocate do?

A patient advocate helps individuals and families navigate the healthcare system. This may include reviewing medical records, preparing for doctor appointments, coordinating specialist care, understanding diagnoses, and organizing questions about treatment recommendations.

At True Care Navigation, I provide personalized support based on your specific concerns and goals.

Can I hire a private patient advocate in Colorado?

Yes. True Care Navigation provides private, virtual patient advocacy services for individuals and families throughout Colorado.

Whether you live in Denver, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Fort Collins, or a rural Colorado community, we can work together remotely to review your concerns, organize medical information, and plan next steps.

Can a patient advocate help me if I think I've been misdiagnosed?

Yes. If you're questioning a diagnosis, receiving conflicting medical opinions, or dealing with symptoms that remain unexplained, I can help you organize your medical history, review available records, and prepare questions for your healthcare providers.

I can also help you explore options for seeking a second medical opinion. Patient advocacy does not replace an independent medical evaluation or establish a new diagnosis.

Can you help coordinate care between multiple specialists?

Yes. When you're seeing several specialists, it can be difficult to keep track of appointments, test results, referrals, and treatment recommendations.

I can help organize medical information, prepare questions, identify follow-up tasks, and support communication between you and your healthcare team.

Can you help me manage my aging parent's healthcare?

Yes. I work with adults who are helping parents or other family members navigate medical care. Support may include appointment preparation, reviewing care plans, organizing specialist information, and navigating transitions after a hospitalization.

This can be especially helpful when family members live in different cities or states. Appropriate patient permission is required when accessing or discussing private medical information.

Do you accept health insurance for patient advocacy?

No. True Care Navigation is a private, direct-pay practice. Patient advocacy sessions are not billed to health insurance.

This allows me to focus on your individual needs rather than an insurance company's reimbursement requirements.

How much does a private patient advocate cost?

True Care Navigation offers 60-minute patient advocacy sessions for $150.

Services are private pay, and we'll discuss your concerns and the support you're looking for before getting started.

Is virtual patient advocacy as helpful as in-person support?

Many patient advocacy needs can be addressed virtually, including reviewing medical records, preparing for appointments, organizing healthcare information, and discussing next steps.

Virtual services allow Colorado residents to access individualized support without needing to travel to an office. Some situations may still require in-person medical evaluation or assistance.

Will you replace my doctor or make medical decisions for me?

No. Patient advocacy is designed to complement your existing healthcare team, not replace it.

I help you understand information, prepare questions, and navigate your options. Your treating clinicians remain responsible for your medical care, and healthcare decisions remain yours to make.

How do I get started with True Care Navigation?

Start by visiting my contact page and sending a message about your situation.

We'll discuss what you're experiencing, what kind of help you're looking for, and whether my services are a good fit.

Still have questions?

Tell me a little about your situation. I'm happy to discuss how patient advocacy might help.
